An exploration of the Wallsend Children’s Community’s Emergency Response Grant as an Emerging Necessity

The University of Sunderland, on request of the Wallsend Children’s Community, explored the circumstances of five families in Wallsend that led them to apply for one of our Emergency Response Grants. Using a biographical interview approach, which allowed the families to describe their own experiences in their own words, researchers from the University of Sunderland identified three important themes: ‘Indirect domestic abuse’, child disability’ and ‘inflation’.
